Bareroot Rose Information
Upon receiving your bareroot rose.
Soak roots in water for 24 hours, do not trim.
Potting:
Soil should be well drained. Rose plants like to be constantly moist, but not wet. Soil level should be 1″ below the rim of the pot.
If you apply an anti-desiccant such as Cloud Cover to the cane surfaces this will prevent death due to dehydration from dry winds and cold.
Fertilizer can be applied in about 3 weeks. A good general purpose rose food such as Whitney Farms Rose & Flower Fertilizer with micro-nutrients is a good choice. Do not use systemics right away.
Planting:
Once planted feed your roses according to the fertilizer you use. We recommend continued usage of Whitney Farms Rose & Flower Fertilizer or one of the Bayer products. Bayer “All in One” is a fertilizer, insecticide and fungicide which is mixed with water and watered into soil. Bayer “Rose and Flower” is a fertilizer and systemic insecticide granular form, just sprinkle into soil and water in.
